He is a devoted stepfather to Adam, his wife Betty-Ann’s son with special needs, who lives with them in their Sunnyside home. Politically, Stephen’s values were shaped during his time at Yale, where he joined Yale Students for Reagan and the Federalist Society. His commitment to public service led him to become a Republican during Rudy Giuliani’s 1993 mayoral campaign. He later served as the Queens Republican Commissioner of Elections from 1997 to 2004.
